CXpreX III Pics, Results and location change 8.28.14

A huge Thanks to Rob Pulcipher!

For the complete series of pics from CXpreX III, Thursday, August 28, 2014. There are some great photo's in there. I'm particularly fond of the guy on the Single Speed and flip-flops pre-riding the course!

We're done with you. YES!
Another huge Thanks to our course designers, Brian Kearns and Harvey Elliot. What a fun course those guys set. I can't decide which was my favorite part, the New England/Euro style tight 180's, the nice long starting straight leading to the barrier with the off camber remount, or just the general flow of the whole thing. I think we can all agree on is that we won't have to run Mt. Sisyphus any more. Can I get an Amen on that?

What a great course! Thanks Guys

And a 3rd huge Thanks to our sponsors. Without the support of these companies CXpreX wouldn't exist. Here's the list: Aberdeen Bike and Outdoors, Ann Arbor Parks and Rec, DeVelo Coaching, Dirt Road Washtenaw, Morgan and York, Sic Transit Cycles, Tailwinds Racing, Tree Fort Bikes, Two Wheel Tango, Wheels In Motion, Wolverine Brewing, & Zingermans Deli. Please stop in an say Thanks to the sponsors and if you feel like spend some cash with them that would be awesome.

I know, I know this is sounding like an Oscars speech, and you didn't even get to walk the red carpet. But without the volunteers this event wouldn't happen. There are too many to mention by name, I'm grateful for the help and effort they put in. Thanks All!

And finally a huge Thanks to the riders. Without you men and women CXpreX wouldn't be the blast that it is. Thank you so much for coming out and riding your bikes. We hope you learn something every week and that you have a ton o' fun doing it.

And now the part you've been waiting for,

CXpreX II is in the books,

a wet, gray, bee stung  book anyway. 46 riders showed up at Leslie Park on a beautiful day for CX racing. It rained, it thundered and there was even a bit of mud. Perfect Cyclo-cross racing weather!

The other momentous event that occurred was this was the FIRST CXpreX @ Leslie where we didn't have to run up Mt. Sisyphus. All of the riders were glad to see it.

Because of the rain our iPad based system went ka-blooey but the good old manual system worked just fine.  I'd forgotten how much more work a manual system takes, after a weekend at the Bowling Green Soccer Fall Challenge (my son's team made it to the finals!) I'm working on results. A & B results will be posted shortly.

The next session, on August 28, is back @ Leslie Park.  We have a whole new series of challenges for you to learn and practice. Think New England and Europe for course design. As usual registration will open @ 5:15, Clinics @ 5:45 Racing @ 6:30ish with food and raffle to follow.

Thanks to all our volunteers and sponsors without them we couldn't do what we do. Here's the list, Please stop by their shops and buy something or just say Thanks!

Aberdeen Bike and Outdoors, Ann Arbor Parks and Rec, DeVelo Coaching, Dirt Road Washtenaw, Morgan and York, Sic Transit Cycles, Tailwinds Racing, Tree Fort Bikes, Two Wheel Tango, Wheels In Motion, Wolverine State Brewing, Zingerman's Deli

See ya on the 28th

Thanks Again, Everyone

Results:

For the A and B racers are here . We don't publish "C" as this is a training clinic and the levels of ability are too varied for results to have meaning.
